IMPORTANT Message To Everyone who bought the SY-link until Jan 30, 2011
It seems I was screwed by the electronics vendor. Some of the chips I received for the SY-link was defected. They has a delayed effect: once being programmed, soldered and checked (Yes, I have checked personally each piece on my Skywalker setup) they retained their functions about a week from the last powering up.
I have spotted it just a couple of days ago. Of course I threw the rest chips in the trash bin and change the vendor, but I have 20 pcs already went to the stores. Now they all are sold out.
The main sign of defect is: While being powered separatedly, the SY-link shows NO VOLTAGE (zeros) on the pins of the cable #4 (to elogger) relative to battery minus.
To those who faced this problem: please PM me to discuss the possible workout.
The options might be:
1) Exchange the product for one with another chip
2) I send the programmed chip to the customer for re-soldering by himself (no expenses for the customer)
3) The customer (with DIY skills) will buy the chip ATTiny-13A in the SO-8 package, programs it with my firmware and replaces the chip by himself. Then I'll refund him the chip's cost
The said above is relating to the SY-links bought until 30th January 2011.
